PTE Academic will be accepted by Engineers Australia from November 1 this year as evidence of an applicant’s English proficiency when completing their migration skills assessment, Pearson Asia Pacific Managing Director David Barnett announced today.

Engineers from around the world can apply for over 13,000 places to be granted during the 2017-18 program year, according to the occupational ceilings released by the Department of Immigration and Border Protection on the 1st of July, 2017.

Mr Barnett welcomed the Engineers Australia’s inclusion of PTE Academic as an accepted language test for engineers.

“For many years visa applicants from non-English speaking countries, such as India, the Middle East, China, Malaysia and Singapore, have found difficulty in meeting the English language requirements as they were limited in their choice of tests to prove their language proficiency,’ Mr Barnett said.

“While our test is academically challenging, it provides a simple and seamless experience for the user, which makes this process less stressful for applicants and assessors. “Pearson looks forward to assisting Australian employers with recruiting engineers to their workforce.”

“The computer-based test uses cutting edge technology to ensure score reliability, and integrity of the testing process. It also offers the fastest score reporting in the market, with test takers receiving their results typically within five business days.”
