Oral Examiner FAQ 

Tests are currently offered in:

• May
• June
• August
• November
• December of each year

Online marking takes place after these sessions – our main sessions are May and December
  • Native English speaker proficient
  • Two years ongoing EFL experience
  • Minimum Certificate level qualification in ELT, Diploma level preferred
  • Able to attend training session if required, and able to commit to availability during specified marking period
  • EFL / ESOL marking experience is desirable, but not essential
  • BA / BSc
  • Prior to the marking period you will attend a training meeting to give you an understanding of the marking criteria for the recorded orals
  • You will be able to contact the Chief Examiner/Team Leader for should you encounter any problems during the marking period

  • You would mark around 100/150 interviews during a marking period of about 8/10 days. Each interview includes two test takers and lasts between 10 to 15 minutes. Once you are trained, the marking can be done at times to suit you around other commitments.
